Happy Easter!

This year for Easter Sunday, Ian and I were so happy to just stay home and enjoy a quiet holiday together, just the 4 of us. We just had family in town for a week which was so much fun! But it was nice to just have a quiet holiday at home. When we went to church that morning, one of the speakers talked about how we kind of go through the motions during the holidays, but don't always take the time to really ponder and think about the true meaning on the holiday. I really thought about what she said and realized that with Easter already being here, I hadn't yet really thought about it very much. I needed to think about Christ that day and what Easter really meant to me. I am so thankful for the life the Savior led and the example he showed. He is my Savior and our Redeemer and he died for our sins so that we can live again with Him someday. To me Easter is a reminder of Christ's and God's love for us. I think of how He was resurrected and I know that He lives and loves me and cares for me more than I even know. I am so thankful to have him as my older brother and Savior and I look forward to thanking Him for all He did for me someday and for giving me the opportunity to repent for my sins. So, after thinking of all that, it made Easter a little more meaningful to me.

The Easter bunny brought the girls baskets full of eggs with jelly beans in them and then the girls got a train set that the easter bunny found on clearance at target after Christmas! Kira has expressed an interest in trains ever since she saw Casey Jr. the train on Dumbo. So this was a perfect gift for her and her little sister Zoey! They had fun dying easter eggs too with Ian's mom and me. They did a really good job. Zoey liked to pick up the eggs and just drop them into the bowls of dye... the dye would splash all over when she did that. haha. They were wearing the cute dresses my mom bought them for Easter. They are so pretty!
